The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) is a statutory body established by the Government of West Bengal in 1998. The Board is responsible for conducting the WBJEE, which is a state-level entrance exam for admission to undergraduate engineering and pharmacy courses in colleges and universities in West Bengal.
The Board has its headquarters at Salt Lake City, Kolkata. The Board is headed by a Chairman, who is assisted by a Vice-Chairman and a Secretary. The Board has a Governing Council, which is responsible for the overall functioning of the Board.
The Board conducts the WBJEE every year in April. The exam is conducted in two shifts, the morning shift and the afternoon shift. The morning shift is for engineering courses and the afternoon shift is for pharmacy courses.
The WBJEE is a multiple-choice objective type exam. The exam consists of three sections, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each section consists of 100 questions. The total duration of the exam is 3 hours.
