The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has announced the results of the Higher Secondary (HS) or Class 12th board exams 2023. The results were declared on May 24, 2023, at 12 pm. Students can check their marks on the official website of the WBCHSE, wbresults.nic.in.

A total of 8,24,891 students appeared for the HS exams this year, out of which 7,37,807 students have been declared passed. The pass percentage is 89.25%. This year also, boys performed better than girls. The pass percentage of boys is recorded to be 91.86% while that of girls is 87.26%.

Subhranshu Sardar has topped the HS exams with 496 marks (99.2%). Sushma Khan and Abu Sama secured the second position with 495 marks (99%). Four students have grabbed the third position with 494 marks (98.8%).
The WBCHSE has also released the pass percentage of different streams. The pass percentage of Science stream is 92.73%, Commerce stream is 87.71% and Arts stream is 86.46%.
The results of the HS exams are important for students as they will determine their future course of study. Students who have passed the exams can now apply for admission to undergraduate courses in colleges and universities.
The WBCHSE has also released the merit list of students who have scored above 90% in the HS exams. The merit list will be used for admission to government-aided colleges and universities.
